Do you have crystals at home?
We have had crystals in our home for a long time, really more because we find them nice to look at. Our grandma also has a lot of crystals at her place, so we were curious about these stones ever since we were kids. Last year, visiting Los Angeles, there were crystals everywhere. In yoga class, we got crystals placed on our bodies. The teacher told me that those she placed on me where working against all the radiation I get from cellphones and computers.
Personally, I have never given much though to what crystals are, how they function, where they come from and whether or not they are sustainably sourced. This has come to my mind the last couple of years, and I really wanted to learn more.
Thats why we decided to invite someone who knows a lot about crystals to talk about it with us. This week we had a really lovely conversation about crystals in our podcast - with Else and Andy from Ikya. The episode is in Norwegian (you can find it here), and we talked all about these magical, mystical, beautiful stones.
Crystals have been used by humans since ancient times. They have been used in meditation and healing ceremonies for centuries. They have also been placed in homes, seen as having an effect, through their vibration, on people and how they feel.
The most important thing to look out for when getting a new crystal is where they come from, how they (& their surroundings) have been treated, and what kind of business is involved in selling them. Take responsibility by asking until you know for certain, and be skeptical for crystals sold way too cheap. These are living being from our earth, a part of nature, and need to be respected as such.
