If you are taking a longer trip, it kan be a little hard to find snacks that are not wrapped in plastic. Even more, it’s kind of hard to find healthy snacks on airports and gas stations. Therefore, preparation is key! Also it keeps everyone on the trip happy and out of that hangry low blood sugar slump where you say things you don’t really mean. The other day we made some really good bliss balls, just using what we had left in out cupboards, and the result was so good! It’s also really healthy, and you can roll them around in different superfoods to make them even more energizing. The best thing? It’s easy to make!
Radically bliss balls
You need:
2 dl cashew nuts (you can use any type of nut you like, but cashew makes the consistency really good)
7-8 dates
1 tsp maple syrup (you can also use coconut oil, but maple syrup makes them sweeter and softer)
Toppings: use anything you like: cashew shreds, cacao nibs, spirulina, raw cacao powder, hemp seeds.
How to do it:
Place the cashew nuts and the dates (pitted) in a blender and blend until the consistency is pretty soft so that you are able to roll them. If you find that the consistency is too hard just add another date. Once you have rolled them all into small balls, you can place different toppings, in different bowls. We used spirulina, hemp seeds, raw cacao powder and cacao nibs. Just roll them carefully in the different toppings and place them in the freezer for about one hour to let them sit. Hope you love them!
