We recently received a really nice book called “Vær din beste venn” (be your own best friend), written by Marianne Magelssen. It is the sweetest, most uplifting book I have read in a very long time. I read a few pages before going to sleep every night, to make sure I end the day on a really good vibe.
I just wanted to share some thoughts from the book with you, as I found it to resonate so much. The main topic of the book is to learn how to love the WHOLE you. Not just the you on good days, the happy and social and funny you, but the dark sides too.
There are some rhetorical questions like;
How do I feel when I become rejected?
How do I feel when I receive criticism?
How do I feel when someone else succeeds?
How do I feel when I make mistakes?
I tried to think thoroughly through these different topics, and found out that I’m not that kind to myself in difficult situations at all! And decided from that moment on to be more accepting of my whole being, even the ugly sides.
The book also touches upon how you can become who you really are, how to learn the difference between you and your ego, and how to live in the now and appreciate the moments. Wow. What a beautiful book.
Norwegians can find the book here. For those of you outside of Norway, let’s hope it gets translated!
