Ups & downs from LA
Hi 🙃
Felt like it was time for a little life update from us. We’ve been in the US for exactly three weeks now, and it really feels like much longer. Maybe it just feels like it since we’ve experienced a lot of new stuff?
During these three weeks we’ve had the some of the best times, but also a lot of chaos. We’ve had some time at the beach, explored LA, found some favorite shops and cafes and dreamt of what life would be like if we lived here and started up a business here. We’ve also evacuated from a forest fire, moved homes about 5 times and felt a little stressed out about not getting started about work. Haha. We’ve had to get ourselves together to stop complaining about uncertainty and instability, because that’s exactly the reason why we went on this adventure in the first place!
Why LA?
So first it was Anette who had a plan to go to LA and Costa Rica for the winter, in search of new experiences, and to see if we could get our book translated to English, and also to explore whether this was her future home! I decided to join the journey after a lot back and forth, because I have a little puppy and obligations at home, and felt unsure of traveling with him and whether the timing was right. When the decision was made we were super excited and a bit nervous. How long should we stay? Where should we stay? Can we make any business here? What is the purpose of our trip?
When we arrived, we understood that this is the perfect place to find inspiration for our work! We also got hold of an agent that can pitch our book to different publishing houses, got a collaboration with a brand and connected with some cool people. A lot of other business ideas are in the making, and its SO EXCITING!!! We just want to do everything at once, but have to realize that we need to take one small step at the time.
It has been super fun to share lots of LA content with you, and there is a lot more to come. Thanks for all the feedback on Instagram, its soooo fun to chat 🙏🏼💋
