Hi lovely people. Okay so this is something that I view as a really important part of self-care - namely taking care of your digestion. Everyone that has struggled with one or another digestive issue knows how frustrating that is. Todays tips are therefore three things you can do if you’re feeling constipated or have a tummy ache <3
Sit on a rock (yogapose)
This pose is really good to sit in after eating, or if you have a stomach ache or constipation. Its called the rock pose because its said you’re supposed to be able to digest a rock when sitting like this (don’t try it 😏).
How to: Sit with your butt on your heals, and your feet together. Keep the spine straight and breathe into your belly. Sit for as long as possible for you! In the beginning this might be only a few minutes, but after a while you can almost sit forever!
2. Massage your belly
Massage your belly in the direction of your large intestine. Use a good massage oil or body lotion for an easier and smoother massage. It can really help moving stuff along, and to get a flatter belly!
How to: Massage gently in clockwise direction. From the bottom right, to the upper right, across to the left and down on the left side. If there are painful areas, work a little longer there but please be gentle. Breathe deep into the belly. Switch between using the fingertips, heels of the hands and your knuckles.
3. Lie on a bolster
Lying flat on your stomach with something beneath it can also be a type of massage for the tummy.
How to: Place a bolster, towel or pillow on the ground. Roll it together to it fits between your ribs and your hip bones, sticking out on each side of the body. Lie with your tummy on top of it and breath deeply. Feel the massage in the intestines.
This is also a great yoga session for the belly!
