Last Friday, we went to a book signing in Tønsberg, a city in Vestfold, about 1.5 hours outside of Oslo. We took the train and had a little bit of time before the train back home arrived. Luckily, that gave us time to pop by BareVare, which is a zero waste store in Tønsberg city center.
They sell package-free goods, organic food, local products and lots of great tools for a life with less waste.
The store is super nice, very authentic, and you feel like you travelled back a few centuries. It’s gives you a feeling of living life a bit slower, taking time to smell the fresh bread and newly brewed coffee, and to create less waste.
The store keepers told us that they are very low waste as a store, they produce small amounts of residual waste. Thats so impressive! That is what we try to do here at home too. Hope to see more of these stores that embrace earth, a natural way of living and a slow and happy life :)
If you’re ever in Tønsberg - check out Bare Vare in Farmannsveien 6a. Visit their website here. See Bare Vare on Instagram here.
