Essential oils
I usually bring an essential oil with me. Either tea tree, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon or lavender. I use tea tree for any skin breakouts - I put a little bit of oil on a q-tip and apply it on the breakout. Be careful with it, cause its quite strong, and you’re not supposed to apply it in large amounts directly to the skin without a carrier oil (I only do this with breakouts). I use peppermint for a awakening boost. I rub some drops in my palms and take a deep breath while holding the hands in front of the face. I use eucalyptus a bit the same way, or for a massage. I use lemon for a belly rub, as its said to be a good aid in digestion. Lavender is more for calming down.
NB! Always check if your essential oils can be applied directly on the skin.
Natural hair oil & perfume
These two babies are from Costa Rica, from one of our favorite shops called Studio Collectiva.
Hermosa perfume, Na Nin: The Hermosa perfume is originally from a beautiful online shop called Na Nin - check it out here. They make lots of fragrances and candles, and sell cool vintage pieces. I love the Hermosa perfume, it smells amazing and it shares a name with my favorite beach in Costa Rica. [Ingredients: essential oils, fragrance oils, perfumer’s alcohol and distilled water.]
Revitalizing hair oil, May 11: I’ve been that person who never uses any hair products, until now. Haha. I figured I need to to something to my hair instead of just putting it in a bun all the time - so I thought I would give it some help with this hair oil. It is organic and has SPF so it will protect the hair from sun damage in addition to giving some hydration. I just figured out that the brand is called May 11 because may is the month of rebirth and new growth, and 11 is the number of intuition. A little fun fact. Excited to try! [Ingredients: Jamaican black castor oil, almond oil, avocado oil, hemp seed oil, fragrance oil]
Anaé natural hair brush
I got this hair brush from BeeOrganic a while ago. Its made of olive trea, with natural rubber. Its really great, eco-friendly and good for the hair.
We have a whole post on skincare HERE if you’re interested <3
Dental care
Tongue scraper: Tongue scraping is supposed to be really good for removing bacteria in the mouth, according to ancient Ayurvedic tradition.
Zero waste toothpaste: Bite is a plastic-free, natural toothpaste that we got as a gift from a friend. She has a subscription on this, and gets a little refill every month. HOW COOL IS THAT!? They are like small mints, so you just bite onto one of them, wet your toothbrush and brush away. Its actually the best natural toothpaste I’ve tried!
Plastic free floss: You gotta do your flossing :) So why not do it with one that’s plastic-free and comes with a refill? I love this one. It’s originally a German brand but I got it from Beecoshop.
Hope you like’d it! What are your travel essentials? 💋
