A few years ago, I stumbled upon a treatment called Green Peel when I was looking for a skin refreshment in Oslo since my skin was feeling a bit dull. I googled “natural skin treatment”, and the search result told me to go and check out Green Peel, which I did. I was so happy with the results I got. I am so lucky to get my treatments from one of the best beauticians at Beth’s Beauty named Fanny - ask for her if you want something special :)
The experience was so different than other skin treatments that I’ve tried. It was a total makeover of the skin, with a deep herbal peeling that made the skin peel off small layers over the days following the treatment, resulting in what felt like really new, fresh skin!
Green Peel treatment & ingredients
The treatment lasts for an hour, and starts with a rinse, a peeling with herbs, a cooling mask and an amazing massage. Green Peel is made up of plants and herbs. Among others Aloe Vera, Bladderwrack (blæretang), and Spirulina! It is therefore very surprising for many how it can be so efficient, and give such a deep peeling. Trust me - you can smell the spirulina during the treatment!
For me, taking a treatment like this has become a (luxurious) routine that I do at Beth’s Beauty about 4 times a year, for every change of season, to boost the skin for the new weather conditions.
The treatment was developed more than 60 years ago by Christine Schrammek, who wanted to help people with various skin problems to get a clean and even skin. The basis is a mixture of eight selected herbs containing enzymes, minerals and vitamins, which are massaged into the skin. You can really feel it tingle and work in different layers of the skin, and you will see a result within 5 days.
There are three methods:
Green Peel Classic: The most intense version, a total renewal of the skin.
Green Peel Energy: A medium version of the treatment, where you definitely can feel a peeling effect.
Green Peel Fresh up: The lightest, a treatment that is perfect before a big night out for example!
Ask at the salon or clinic what version will suit your skin.
What types of skin problems can it help?
Green Peel can help you with lots of different troubles you might have with your skin on your face and body. These include:
Large-pored, seborrheic skin
Impure skin, sebum cysts
Scars
Skin prone to premature formation of wrinkles with sagging face contours
Sun damaged skin
Anti-Aging prophylaxis
Some forms of hyperpigmentations
Stretch marks (striae)
Sagging skin on the body (abdominal wall, upper arms, thighs)
My skincare routine
Since trying Green Peel for the first time, I have been using the products that follow the treatment, by the brand DR. SCHRAMMEK. They are really amazing, and using these after a treatment will prolong and boost the results.
I use these daily:
Soft foam cleanser: A foam rinse that I use in the shower or just over the sink. It’s a gentle rinse.
Herbal Care Lotion: A daily rinse. I use some on a cotton pad every morning and evening to clean my skin after the soft foam cleanser.
Special Care Cream: Soothing day cream that gives lots of moisture. I bring the mini package with me in my bag in case I need a brush up.
Blemish Balm: My favorite BB cream that covers up small stuff without covering too much! It makes the skin really glow, and I love it. I use the color Honey.
I use these weekly:
Enzyme regulating peeling: a peeling for skin that could be a bit oily and that needs a clearing. They have another peeling for times when the skin is dry and needs a moisture boost.
Black clearing mask: Same goes for this peeling - it’s a clearing one for the oily times. The alternative is a hydrating mask.
Where to find the treatment and products?
On the official Green Peel website they have an overview over all the clinics across the world that do this treatment. Check out clinics worldwide HERE.
On the Norwegian site, there is an overview over all salons in Norway that do the treatment and sells the products. Check out clinics in Norway HERE. I’m really happy with Fanny at Beth’s Beauty, and would recommend going to her if that’s available for you.
Hope you will try it, and would love to hear your feedback on the treatment or products! <3
