Finally here in LA! If feels like home, strangely enough. Yoga everywhere, vegan ice cream, vegan pizza, vegan errrythang, palm trees, cool vintage stores. We spent the first weeks in Santa Monica, and a lot of time in Venice. Here are some of the spots we really like.
The first days we were exhausted and yet lagget but soaking in the sun and all the good vibes helped us get adjusted pretty quickly. We are living in Santa Monica which is such a calm and nice area, close to the beach and Venice where we spent the first couple of days.
Here are the first places we checked out:
Ceremonial Meditation
Ceremonial Meditation offers yoga & meditation classes, plus workshops. It’s a nice backyard and a cosy meditation room with cool teachers, and every class was really unique. Highly recommend this place. You can get a 7 -day pass for 30 dollars and get unlimited access to classes during these days. We tried sound bath, Reiki Infused yoga with crystals, future self meditation and a Akashic reading group healing and reading. The last one is a class where you get to ask a question to the teacher who connects with spirit and gives you the answer. It was cool.
Adaptogenic beauty and wellness spot, with smoothies, lattes, shakes, cookies, bites and all the powders and potions you need. We tried the mango lassie adaptogenic smoothie, the brain dust latte and a self composed latte with ashaganda, raw cacao powder and mace. They also have the best bites, such as chocolate donuts infused with chaga, and sex dusted chocolate buttons. Very extra, very good.
Pressed Juicery
Like the geek I am, I have been following Pressed Juicery on Instagram for a couple of years, just drooling over the pressed ice creams. They are only made out of plant ingredients, and on man they tased as good as they look. They also sell celery juice, at the prices are pretty good. This is vanilla ice cream topped with gluten free cookies, coconut shred, almond butter, and blueberries. They also sell juices and lattes, which are all plant based and super healthy.
Simple tonics - medical teas
Simple tonics is a line of herbal infused teas, made out of the purest water, berries, herbs, leaves, roots and flowers. What I loved most about the place is when I asked what I should get for this and that, they asked me back what my body gravitated towards. I ended up getting the burdock tea, which is really good for the liver and for digestion. They also have a really beautiful rose tea which is good for your skin and for the immune system. We learned a lot about herbal teas when we were at Thea Retreat in Costa Rica last year, and truly notices the benefits of drinking herbal teas. Just fell in love with this store.
A huge tips is to check out the app called “MindBody” where you can find free or reduces prices on the best workouts, yogas and meditations in your area.
